We did well - raised £120 which is good as very few of our Brownies turned up after all their efforts making things to sell. We had 6 I think - out of around 26...

After the sale, there was a Guiders meeting (prep for Thinking Day). I emailed all the Guiders to say if they were early we were holding the sale to raise money for Haiti - they'd be welcome. Nobody was early.

The woman who suggested the sale (mother of 2 Brownies) had a tummy bug and didn't come... which I am not very sympathetic about. I would NEVER have texted to say I couldn't come if there was any way I could make it (immodium??). I don't know this woman well enough to judge - so perhaps she really was very ill.

Our Assistant Guider & YL are very reliable and are a great help, and a mum came bringing her daugher and daughter's friend... and they worked very hard to get as much money as possible.

well done, especially in the face of such poor support

thanks Jen. It is disappointing & I was already a bit fed up with Guiding but I'll persevere for now. Think I might stick to unit things on meeting nights only for the rest of term (after Thinking Day).

There were other things that annoyed me too: Our DC said she'd get the sale mentioned in the Church newsletter as soon as we picked a date... so we picked it there and then. However the church congregation knew nothing about it (lots of comments about nice surprises!) and there was nothing in the newsletter. My friends who had promised to come didn't - and nor any other non-church person. So really this was all the loose change the members of the church had.... and I will be sending them a lovely card (see photos!) to thank them all!!
