Like the pic? It's a view from Gleniffer Braes - in Paisley where I have been teaching lately
I've been playing in a trumpet trio on and off for a few years and we have always picked a name on the day of the gig... and it's usually been a silly one (Brass Knockers, Wonderbrass -all girls, Brass Necks etc).
Now we have decided to get a bit serious and need a serious name to reflect our new direction.
I'm thinking maybe something like 'Scotia Brass' or 'the West End Ensemble', but need inspiration. I know that bloggers are generally pretty good at this sort of thing and would really appreciate any suggestions you may have.
If they're rude suggestions though they'll have to go into the list to use on shop opening gigs only again...

Great shot of the animal... a classic pose. Good luck on coming up with a name for your group. Glad you're connected to the net again.
Oh my, I'm not good at naming things. Good luck with your name search though.
I like Wonderbrass.
It's me and two boys now though, so wonderbrass doesn't really work....
My mum suggests 'Ceralan Brass' but it wouldn't be memorable as she's made the word up from our names.
I like Alba Brass... but it already exists!
I very much like Scotia Brass sounds good ! Something scottish is always good ! Look at Sean Connery, even if he is an old grandpa for you, he still looks consumable, lol !
It seems there is already a brass group in nova scotia called scotia brass.... thinking hats back on!
How about the Trium-pets (triumverate). No, that wouldn't do.
Trilogy Brass. Tri-Brass.
The Brass Three.
Three Times Brass.
Brass with Class.
Getting silly now, so I'll stop.
Thanks for the suggestions!!! I'm avoiding using 'three' because as in tomorrow's gig there are only 2 of us available... so we become a duo.
Brass Hats? Brass Tacks?
Nope - too drab and boring and probably already in use.
This is hard.
Boring is good! Boring and stuffy so it will appeal to rich folk with lots of cash to spend on musicians for their private functions etc etc etc.....
Not that I'm suggesting for a second that rich folk are all boring and stuffy - that sounded bad - sorry!
One Brass Act?
Hmm...I'm not good at naming things. But I did want to pop in and say hello!
Thanks for stopping by & and weighing in on my Harvard/abstinence post...Big grains of salt, p'rhaps...mines, even!!
Best, Peg
Wish I could help.. drawing a blank.
Great picture though!
Good luck with the name quest.
I'm brain dead too.. but I'm sure the bloggers will come up with something :)
Wonder where my comment on this one went yesterday? Oh well, it was a throw away line about taking the bull by the horns...(or trumpets?)
