It's in an unfortunate place - the doorway to the room. It makes it difficult to put a mat down or anything coz the door wouldn't open and the piano's in the way.
I'll think of something (along the lines of claiming on the house insurance I think).
If it's synthetic and melted in, then about the only thing you can do is a cut out and patch with matching carpet piece. If it is a scorch in natural threads, you could try THIS.

Uh oh! When we bought our first house there was exactly the same mark on the carpet (at least the sellers told us!) but we just put the sofa on top!
