Edinburgh and the Festival

Edinburgh Fringe Festival or even the full Festival itself: Excellent.

Working in Edinburgh DURING the Festival: NOT excellent. For reasons I shall disclose.

Tourists. They just get right in the way when they stop every 100 yards to point at a bit of architecture, or to look at their festival map. Grrr.

Without the tourists Edinburgh festival would not exist. Patients!

Bond - Yesterday I'd have shot them. Saturday I'll be one of them.

Monique - Indeed....

I try to be a polite tourist, but I just never know what's going to catch my eye. If I'm ever in your land, I'll be sure to be aware that I might be pulling up short in front of a native.

Thanks for the tip!

Trav - if it were you it'd be FINE... The pavements in Edinburgh are pretty narrow. Further up the road I was on they have pedestrianised the street - so there's plenty of room for everyone. I know I'm a meanie.

Tourists bring in lots of money and are vital to the economy. But I know they are also a pain, particularly when they fill the restuarants, etc. Grit your teeth and hope for rain, if you want them to go away for a while.
