Manic Monday - Drink

OK this is not going to be a hard post for me.

I am a trumpet player. It is common for brass players to drink.... And I do.

Last night I played a gig that I loved so went for a couple of beers afterwards. My evening was cut short by a fire alarm in the building the bar was in. We were evacuated.. but after two pints I was dying for a pee. I jumped in a taxi thinking 'get me home as quickly as you can!!!'.

That should really be the end of the story but when i got home after chatting to my (very obviously shattered) boyfriend for a while and making a sandwich I realised it was blogtalkradio time and Turnbaby would be on.

So I logged on and got myself a glass of some horrible wine I bought a few days ago 'just to see what it's like'. It was fizzy wine mixed with strawberry juice. It's a bit nasty but I hate waste.....

So by the end of the bottle I decided to see if I could call in to Turn's show from the UK. Apparently I can.... And as soon as I got through I was EMBARRASSED because I suddenly realised people could hear me! (doh!)

Now - I ask any brass players in the blogosphere - What is the solution to embarrassment?

DRINK.

So I did.

Kyra is on after Turnbaby on Sundays so over I went. And the fabulous Narf introduced me to the Kyra Sutra drinking game. Wey Hey!

My boyfriend retired to bed (giving up on trying to get conversation out of me as I was clearly in a chat-room trance). I continued the game for a full hour and a half.

I got through a bottle of wine.......... after leftover wine and 2 pints of beer. Imagine how I feel today?

I've always gone by the old adage, "Wine before beer, you're in the clear. Beer before wine, you're doin time." Yeah, I can imagine how horrible you feel! Hope you feel better soon!

that's weird - my rhyme was always

beer before wine, you'll feel fine.

I think it all depends on the quantity really!

Sanni - it's not a sore head - I just feel a bit like I need to puke. Or eat a load of rubbish.

Kat - Coming to see... still feel ill. Kyra says 'fuck' a lot!

Hope you feel better soon. I so hate it when I make a call when I'm tipsy. Just don't like it, and it's such a good idea at the time. Have a great MM and St. Patrick's Day. :)

LOL

What was the drinking game? I somehow missed it *giggling*

Thank you so much for calling it!! it was neat to hear your voice sugar.

Sandee - I feel better now.

Monique - you'd think I'd learn. I'm 28... plenty of years experience!

Anndi - I'm sticking to the water tonight.. but cheers to you.

Mr Fab - I think I drank a bottle and a half of wine on top of two pints after getting home at midnight and then staying up til about 3.30am... must have been pretty late anyway... Kyra says the f word a lot!

Turnbaby - the game is that every time the 108 says f'ck you take a sip... or giant glug in my case. I would blame Kyra, but at odd times when she hadn't sworn for a while I said it myself in her chat room so I could have a drink.... I'm my own worst enemy!

Fizzy wine with strawberry? OMG and you are still alive?

TopChamp said...

bond - Alive and kicking x (won't be trying that combo again though.. it's grim)

Happy MM! The best part of your post is seeing the name Kyra in it! My younger sister has that name and I rarely see it in cyberspace...

Thank you for visiting my MM post this week.

peace, Villager
