Hello - well Kandi is still in the drawer.
She's been up this morning (early) for some tuna (about a tablespoonful) and a drink & toilet break. And then she was back in the drawer again.
I've been to say hello and give her a stroke and she barely broke out a purr for me. Perhaps it was partly due to the previous 5 minutes in which I had tried to persuade her to take steroid pills (used ALL the tricks that usually work) and eat a cat treat chew bar thing.
She doesn't seem in pain but this really isn't right. (She's only 7 yrs old. For anyone who doesn't already know she has lymphoma - it's spread from her cheek to her abdomen - lymph nodes and kidney)
Many thanks to all the cat bloggers at who sent her lots of love & good wishes. She needs them.
does anyone know whether you need to make an appointment at the *whispers* "vet" if you're taking a pet to be put to sleep?

Oh, it am SO furry sad. We will keep you & her in our purrayers.
Oh, all us here are sad to hear Kandi's so ill. We'll keep you and she both in our purrayers.
*whispers* Vets usually need appointments made for most anything, but in these cases, they can usually make them for very soon to save the poor animal from suffering. Call and ask. Just asking what they require doesn't commit you to any course of action, but just gives you information. Follow your heart as to what's best to do for everyone concerned. I've been there -- It's such a hard thing to do, but sometimes it's the needed thing. If I can be any help or support, email me at catsnmom(at)houseofthemostlyblackcats(dot)com

I am so sorry for your pain. All of us on the Blogosphere know what you are going through and feel for you. I know when we were in the same situation that it was not necessary to make an appt. However, we knew that we would be there a while saying our good-byes so we arranged to be there after the last appt of the day. Everyone was understanding and they took great care of us even though I am sure they wanted to go home.
Be strong for kitty. She'll thank you for it.
we will be keeping you and kandi in our prayers. it is a difficult decision to make but if it becomes necessary you will know in your heart when it is the right time. i have been in your shoes wondering when and if the visit to the vet should be made. my heart goes out to you in this difficult time.
We are so furry sorry to hear abowt Kandi. KC let us know. We will keep yoo bofe in owr thoughts and prayers. Purrrs and headbutts to yoo
Oh, she's only 7? ::sniffle::
Mom had a 12-year old cat who had tumors spreading thru her tiny body. When the time came, it was obvious she was dieing and Mom didn't bother callin the vet, she just took her in. They unnerstand the urgency an are prepared fur this. We'd suggest a vet trip as maybe (hopefully) some vet treatment mite help.
My heart goes out to you.
Our prayers to you & Kandi,
with love

poor sweet kitty. we don't know anything about lymphoma, but the vet should be able to tell you whether or not she's in pain and whether or not there's anything they can do. we're still purring and praying for her.
i am verree sorree fer kandi ...

She's only seven? It looks like you both drew the short straw.
I doubt you would need to make an appointment; perhaps just a call to warn them before you start to save you having to sit in the waiting room. The times I've had to do this, the vet office found us a quiet place where we could say our good-byes.
I know nothing about your situation, but if there is some way to get a vet to come to your home, it would probably be less stressful for both you and Kandi. Driving home with Coco in a box was one of the worst trips of my life.
I'm thinking of you both.

The best wishes and strength to you in dealing with the last days. Kandi will let you know when it's time.
Usually the V-E-T is very accomodating when someone is so ill ... We're sending good karmic thoughts, and of course, purrayers for you.

I am so sorry to hear about Kandi. All of us here will continue to keep you and her in our thoughts and purrayers. I know our Vet is very accomdating. No need to worry about appointments. I am sure your Vet is the same way. Continue to follow your heart.

Oh god, I've got a big lump in my throat. I hate making those decisions, but I guess they're already made, aren't they. When an animal refuses to eat, they know
